In My Mailbox -1

So, this is my first In My Mailbox. I love the idea, it's really a great way to share new books with other bloggers and see what everyone is getting. In My Mailbox is brought to us by The Story Siren.

So, this past week I've gotten two books. :)

Death's Shaddow by Darren Shan
The seventh installment in the Demonata series

Photobucket

Summary:
I'm a human sponge - I soak up memories. I feel like a thief, stealing secrets with an innocent touch. I don't like this gift. It's intrusive and sneaky. I think it's harmless, but I can't be sure. If knowledge is power, why do I feel so alone...?

The apocalypse came and the world burned. But it wasn't the end, and out of the destruction, new life has emerged. Bec is back to face the Demonata. After centuries of imprisonment, she's more powerful than ever, but the demons no longer stand alone.

Something else has crawled oout of the darkness with her. Lord Loss is no longer humanitie's greatest threat....

The seventh novel in the chilling Demonata series by Darren Shan, author of the New York Times best selling Cirque du Freak series, will terrify readers long after the last page.

My Thoughts:
Ok, so I know that Bec is on my next to read list. And yes, Bec is the fourth Demonata book. I know I'm a little behind on that one haha, but since Blood Beast came out, I've been getting the books as they've come out so I'll have them all in hardback. :P Hopefully I will get to this one soon and have this as well as the others reviewed!

Bleed by Laurie Faria Stolarz

Photobucket

Summary:
Nicole has a not-so-secret crush on her best friend's boyfriend.

Robby would kill for true love...he's done it before.

Joy hates boys, and today they're going to pay.

Derik can get any girl, except the on he wants.

Kelly has two boyfriends, but one is in jail.

Sean just wants to do the right thing...or does he?

Over the course of a single summer day, ten teenagers in Salem, Massachusetts will discover important truths about themselves and each other.

There is Nicole, who's decission to betray her best friend will shock everyone, most of all herself; Kelly, who meets the convicted fellon she's been writing to for years; Maria, whose definition of a true friend is someone who will cut her. Then there is Sadie, a chubby eleven-year-old whose mother forces her to wear a "please don't feed me" sign stapled to her shirt; while Joy, a fifteen-year-old waitress hoping for true intimacy narrowly escapes a very dark fate. Derik discovers that his usual good looks and charm won't help him hold on to the girl he wants, while nineteen-year-old drifter, Mearl, is desperately looking for a place to call home. Sean is torn between his loyalty to his girlfriend and the possibility of finding something more with her friend, while Ginger's single-minded pursuit to bring down her nemesis only proves that they may be more alike than she thought.

Seamlessly woven together, this incredibly powerful and compelling collection of short stories chronicles the very real trials of today's teen experience.

My Thoughts:
I don't know about you, but this sounds absolutely insane! In a good way of course. I cannot wait to read this and get the review up for you guys! I love Stolarz's writing style and I am so looking forward to see what she does in this book.

Both synopsi are product descriptions from the book covers.

Lol thanks! I am a little behind lol, I got distracted after I got Bec so I never got around to reading it all the way through. But I kept up in getting the others. I've enjoyed the series so far and I love Shan's style so I'm expecting them to be good.

Wow! I'm only familiar with Darren Shan's Cirque De Freak series but Death's Shadow looks really good. And ughhh I have been wanting to read Bleed for a while now. It sounds like everything's going on in that little world. Have you read her Blue is for nightmares series??
