Waiting on Wednesday is brought to us by Breaking the Spine.

This week, my WoW is Ripple by Mandy Hubbard

Summary:

For two years, I have not killed.
But tonight, I stand in the shadows behind a tree, watching as a boy skips rocks on the lake.
He shouldn't be here.

Lexi is cursed with a dark secret. The water calls to her, forces her to sing her deadly song to unsuspecting victims. If she succumbs, she kills. If she doesn't, the pain is unbearable. To keep herself and those she cares about safe, she shuts herself off, refusing to make friends or fall in love--again. Because the last time she fell in love with a boy, he ended up dead.

Then Lexi meets Cole. Against her better judgement, she finds herself opening up again, falling in love when she knows she shouldn't. But when she's offered the chance of living a normal life, she learns that the price she must pay to be free of her curse is giving him up.

In Ripple, Mandy Hubbard spins a sea-ravaged tale of melancholy beauty, and the choices one girl makes between land and waves, love and freedom, her future--and her heart.

I am SOOOO looking forward to this book. I absolutely LOVE sea/land romances!

Summary from Mandy Hubbard's site.

This meme is brought to us by Breaking the Spine

Entwined
by Heather Dixon in my Waiting on Wednesday for this week. I came across it on the Harper Publishing site and I fell in love with the summary. AND the cover. Big plus, it's coming out on Tuesday.

Summary:

Azalea is trapped. Just when she should feel that everything is before her . . . beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing . . . it's taken away. All of it.

The Keeper understands. He's trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. And so he extends an invitation.

Every night, Azalea and her eleven sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest.

But there is a cost.

The Keeper likes to keep things.

Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late.

So,
Shimmer was released yesterday. And I'm so stoked about it. I absolutely LOVE Riley. And the third book is coming out in September. Thus, my WoW for this week is Dreamland by Alyson Noel.

Sadly, there is no summary released yet for this book. But I was just really excited about it so I wanted to post the cover, haha.

Also, in case you all haven't hear. Alyson Noel is releasing a new series under the paranormal genre called SOUL SEEKERS. It is supposed to be a four part series, the first to be released in 2012.

Super stoked about that as well. I'll be updating on all of Alyson's work periodically. :)

'Who is this?' I repeat.
But the line is dead." (92)

She pulls Pudge into her world, launches him into the Great Perhaps, and steals his heart.

Nothing is ever the same.

My Thoughts:
So, my roommate gave me this book because she thought it sounded like me. I’ve heard a lot of great things about John Green and with this book being an award winner, I’m sure it’ll be great. I can’t wait to read it.

Hunted
by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast

Photobucket

Summary:
WHAT IF THE HOTTEST GUY IN THE WORLD WAS HIDING A NAMELESS EVIL AND ALL HE WANTED WAS YOU?

At the start of this heart-pounding new installment of the bestselling House of Night series, Zoey's friends have her back again and Stevie Rae and the red fledglings aren't Neferet's secrets any longer. But an unexpected danger has emerged. Neferet guards her powerful new consort, Kalona, and no one at the House of Night seems to understand the threat he poses. Kalona looks gorgeous, and he has the House of Night under his spell. A past life holds the key to breaking his rapidly spreading influence, but what if this past life shows Zoey secrets she doesn't want to hear and truths she can't face?

On the run and holed up in Tulsa's Prohibition-era tunnels, Zoey and her gang must discover a way to deal with something that might bring them all down. Meanwhile, Zoey has a few other little problems. The red fledglings have cleaned up well--they've even managed to make the dark, creepy tunnels feel more like home--but are they really as friendly as they seem? On the boyfriend front, Zoey has a chance to make things right with super-hot ex-, Eric, but she can't stop thinking about Stark, the archer who died in her arms after one unforgettable night, and she is driven to try to save him from Neferet's sinister influence at all costs. Will anyone believe the power evil has to hide among us?

My Thoughts…on this group (heh, I’m too lazy to do four of them):
So, after reading Marked from a friend of mine, I borrowed the other four books in the series to finish it off. I really enjoyed the first one so I’m really looking forward to these next four. Although I have heard mixed reviews on the last two, I hope I enjoy them because it really is a great plot line and I do like the characters.

Now there's the small matter of a snogging accident involving her matey-type mate Dave the Laugh and some toasted newts in her undercrackers. My Thoughts…on the pair :)
Ever since I got the first book in this series, they have never failed to make me laugh. I absolutely love them. And I never expect any of them to not meet my expectations. Princess on the Brink
by Meg Cabot

Photobucket

Summary:
At last, Mia is a junior. An upperclassperson. So why is it that everything is going so terribly wrong? What is she doing in Intro to Creative Writing? Her beloved boyfriend could be leaving for Japan for a year—or more! Precalc has nothing on preparing for the worst separation ever!

Turns out there is one way she might convince Michael to stay. But will she? Or won't she? No matter what, Mia seems headed for disaster.

My Thoughts on the two:
I love the Princess Diaries series. They’re always the perfect pick-me-up for any bum day. I can’t wait to see how the book ending in the next two installments compares to the Disney rendition.

With the approaching blue moon heralding her only window for travel, Ever is forced to decide between turning back the clock and saving her family from the accident that claimed them -- or staying in the present and saving Damen, who grows weaker by the day....

My Thoughts:
Hopefully this doesn't spoil anything for those who haven't read the first book in the series (Evermore). Or me haha since I haven't read it yet either. This does however sound very intriguing. I'm very curious to find out what this book is about. The summary makes me want to read the prequel even more!

Project 17
by Laurie Faria Stolarz

Photobucket

Summary:
High atop Hathorne Hill, near Boston, sits Danvers State Hospital. Built in 1878, and closed in1992, this abandoned mental institution is rumored to be the birthplace of the lobotomy.

On the eve of the hospital's demolition, six teens break in to spend the night and film a movie about their experiences. For Derek, it's an opportunity to win a filmmaking contest and save himself from a future of flipping burgers at his parent's diner. For the others, it's a chance to be on TV, or for a night with no parents. But what starts as a dare quickly escalates into a nightmare. Behind the crumbling walls, down every dark passageway, and in each deserted room they will unravel the myseteries of those who once lived there and the spirits who still might.

My Thoughts:
I love Laurie Faria Stolarz's work. This book is written in the same style as Bleed, from multiple perspectives. Although this one goes back and forth between points of view instead of just one chapter per character. There is a crossover in characters as well. Derek is a character from Bleed and the events in this book are mentioned later on in his chapter in Bleed. I am really looking forward to seeing how Stolarz develops this storyline and the characters.

But when the cutest guy in school starts flirting with her, she suddenly finds herself crazy in love, even though her inner Plain Jane tells her he can't possibly think she's cute, while her inner Sexy M. J. is questioning her vow to keep herself pure until marriage. Not to mention that hot Jackson House shouldn't even be talking to her, because he already has a girlfriend!
